This piece was originally composed in 2005 but underwent major revisions in 2018. It uses poetry culled from the existing fragments of Sappho's writing and entered into my mac to "read" selected passages using "Vicky". I recorded the computer spoken passages and manipulated them in Logic.
This version is a summed two track, but the original is meant to be played back on a 12 speaker set-up using two stereo and eight mono tracks.

The instruments in the background are sounds I played in the modelling synth Sculpture as well as a series of pulsing drones I wrote years before for the highly successful production music library series, Hums Drones and Pulses.

This is the first of three parts.
